Metagenics

Metagenics has informed us our Web site was not in compliance with their corporate standards. Here is an excerpt from their letter to us.

"Some Metagenics' products are being promoted on your Web site for conditions that cause the products to be considered as drugs under section 201(g) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the "Act") [21 U.S.C. & 321 (g)(1)]. The therapeutic claims on your site establish that the products are drugs not dietary supplements, because they are depicted for the use in the cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease. Such marketing of these products violates the Act. "

However, since our website is organized broadly by category or function, we needed to have a category for these products that Metagenics by law can not claim to have a medical purpose. So you will find Metagenics' products in this area. Metagenics' products that are classified as "Medical Foods" for which health claims can be made, will be found under the Medical Foods category. The rest of the Metagenics line will be found in this section. Metagenics product descriptions will give you a good idea of the products intended use.

A general word about Metagenics. Metagenics is a leader in the field of nutrition, as such Metagenics is under more scrutiny than smaller companies, which explains why they are so cautious. Metagenics' products in general are manufactured to the highest standards and in general have one the highest rates of follow-up orders, which I beleive is the best indictation of customer satisfaction. We have the utmost respect for Metagenics and their products.

Metagenics does not own or operate this site.
